The All-Star Orchestra hosted a preview screening of its
new public television series featuring classical and
contemporary orchestral masterpieces on
Wednesday, February 6th. Music Director Gerard
Schwarz, Executive Director Paul Schwendener and Board
member Mark McCampbell addressed more than 100 guests
from the music, arts, education, finance and fashion
spheres. The screening showcased the talents of leading
players from 30 American orchestras who gathered
together in New York last August to record eight
high-definition programs for national broadcast this
year.
Guests included composer Richard Danielpour, Juilliard
President Joseph and Elizabeth Polisi, BAM President
Karen Hopkins, Christopher Hyland, Judi Flom, Eden
Graber, Susan ,Hutchison, Michele Gerber Klein, Hank
O'Neal and Shelly Shier, Jody Schwarz, Rosemarie
Garipoli, Robert Downey Sr. and Rosemarie Rogers,
Mitchell and Deborah Sonkin, Adam and Diane Max, Anna
Reinhart, Coco Lazaroff, Marlys and Ralph Palumbo,
Sharon Mosse and Fred Miller, Jonathan Haas and Neil
Balm. Among the All-Star musicians present were
principal cellist Jerry Grossman, Principal clarinet Jon
Manasse, and the young soloists Yevgeny Kutik, violin
and Julian Schwarz, cello. Video director Habib Azar and
wife Carla were also present.
