Martin Richards
In his first 80 years, Marty Richards has
enjoyed an amazing professional life that has
been recognized with multiple Tony Awards, Drama
Desk Awards, a Golden Globe, the BAFTA, and the
Academy Award. His productions have been seen
worldwide by millions…and have become iconic in
the worlds of theatre,
film, and music.
He also had a deep and abiding love in his wife
Mary Lea...a love that has lived on beyond her
years through the various organizations he
founded in her memory.
Today we call your attention to one of those
organizations –
The Mary Lea Johnson Richards Research
Institute. This organization has become one of
the outstanding research facilities for liver,
kidney, and pancreatic diseases. The importance
of this research has become even more
significant to Marty this past year, as he has
been fighting the brave fight with liver cancer.
