SMITH VALLIERE, CECE CORD & SHARON BUSH HOSTS
5TH ANNUAL TOAST TO THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF NEW YORK
(New York, NY) (March 5, 2012) - On Saturday,
March 3rd, New York Times Bestselling author and attorney
Mark W. Smith and his partners Tim Valliere and Noelle
Kowalczyk hosted their 5th annual toast to the Humane
Society of New York at District 36. CNBC Anchor Mandy Drury
and her husband Tim Drury, James Taranto and Anne Jolis of
the Wall Street Journal, former Lieutenant Governor Betsy
MacCaughey, the New York Post's Robert George, fashion
designers Douglas Hannant and Maggie Norris, Sharon Bush,
CeCe Cord, and Gene Brissie, literary agent to the late
Andrew Breitbart, celebrated the cause with their cuddly
pets.
The eclectic group of Wall Streeters, lawyers, fashionistas,
journalists and philanthropists rocked to music videos and
dined on food by Andrea Correale of Elegant Affairs. Guests
including Janna Bullock, Robin Cofer, Leesa Rowland, Nancy
Silberkleit, Michele Gerber Klein, Dr. Laura Torrado, Dr.
Shawn Sadri, Cindy Guyer, Elaine Sargent, Matt Sandy and Tim
Goldburt enjoyed posing for photos in The Digital PhotoBooth-an
elegant update to the traditional photo booth.
A highlight of the evening was the inspirational remarks by
CNBC's Mandy Drury who spoke about how the party had
inspired her to adopt a dog. All of the dogs available for
adoption found homes including the canine star of the night,
Wilbur the Pomeranian from the HSNY.
After his introduction by Ms. Drury, Mr. Smith joked about
how "being introduced as a New York Times bestselling
author" required him to apologize to his guests from the
Wall Street Journal's editorial board.
Smith Valliere partner Noelle Kowalczyk commented: "Every
year we try to raise awareness about one of the most
deserving organizations in the City. We are proud to support
the Humane Society, and even more pleased when our efforts
result in the placement of an abandoned or abused animal."
Smith Valliere partner Tim Valliere said "we look forward to
bringing our friends together each year for such a fun
event. That we can bring greater awareness to the Humane
Society of New York just makes the evening even more
special. It is a great organization and we proudly support
them."
