After registering from 6.00 – 6.30 pm, skaters received
skating tips from an expert coach before challenging the
world record at 7.15 pm. Then from 7.30 pm, enjoyed a free
skate and a hard-earned cup of warm mulled wine from Boisdales, the 50s themed rink-side bar.
The Canary Wharf Ice Rink, which opened its doors for the
ninth winter running in late October, features London’s only
skate path. This illuminated track through the trees which
adjoins the main rink and encircles Ron Arad’s iconic Big
Blue, will
provide a gangway for the mighty conga to move round.
