LUNGevity Foundation’s Celebration
of Hope Gala
a Huge Success
Over $800,000 Raised for
Lung Cancer Research
LUNGevity Foundation brought together over
350 philanthropists, business community leaders, and
Scientific Advisory Board members for Wednesday night’s
Celebration of Hope Gala at the Pierre Hotel in New York
City. The event exceeded expectations and raised over
$800,000 for lung cancer research. Laura Izibor, Irish
musician and Rolling Stone “Artist to Know,” entertained the
gala attendees.

Ushery emceed the event, where scientific advances
researchers have made in the fight against lung cancer were
spotlighted. Program participants included Chair Alexander
F. Stern, the Chief Operating Officer of Lazard; Honorary
Chair Vernon E. Jordan, Jr.; Foundation President and
Chairman Andrea Ferris; and Foundation Vice Chairman Jerry
Sorkin. Guests included Vice Chairs Marlene Hess and Sheila
Labrecque, David and Kelly Gerstenhaber, Jim Neuberger and
Helen Stambler Neuberger, and Vice Chairman of JPMorgan
Chase Alphonso Jackson.
Matt Ellefson and other lung cancer survivors
presented the Corporate Leadership Award to Pfizer Inc in an
emotional address, thanking President and General Manager,
Specialty Care and Oncology, Geno Germano for their
commitment.
