Focus on Pancreatic Cancer:
Israel Cancer Association USA funded scientist Ido Wolf
continues making inroads in his study of the protein Klotho,
which may slow down Pancreatic Cancer.
Klotho is fittingly named after the Three Fates in Greek
mythology, who spun thread to keep people alive.
Dr. Wolf, as a result of a previous study funded by Nancy
and Peter Brown, announced in 2011 that in laboratory tests
the protein Klotho has been shown to slow the spreading of
the cancer, and actually caused tumors to shrink. The Browns
are funding a second two-year cancer research fellowship
grant for Dr. Wolf's continued study of this promising
discovery, that may lead to tomorrow's treatments for
pancreatic cancer.
