Adopt-A-Dog,
Inc., a rescue shelter dedicated
to finding good homes for
adoptable dogs and cats, proudly
announces that it will be
honored for its services by the
Town of North Castle in a
ceremony on November 6 during
National Animal Shelter
Appreciation Week.
Supervisor Reese Berman stated,
“Animal shelters help both
animals and people in many ways,
by rescuing abandoned or abused
animals, educating the public,
and matching up families with
new animal companions, but the
work they do and the important
services they provide often go
unnoticed and underappreciated.
During National Animal Shelter
Appreciation Week, the Town of
North Castle wants to applaud
publicly
Adopt-A-Dog for providing
lifesaving services and loving
care to animals and people in
our community.”
Town Supervisor Berman will
present a proclamation at a
special event at the shelter on
23 Cox Avenue in Armonk on
Thursday, November 6 at 3:30.
The public is invited to
attend. In addition,
Adopt-A-Dog staff members will
talk about what it’s like to run
a shelter and what they look for
when finding permanent homes for
the dogs and cats in their
temporary care. There will also
be demonstrations on training
and grooming and presentations
on other products and services
available to pet owners.
Allyson Halm,
president of Adopt-A-Dog, said,
“National Animal Shelter
Appreciation Week gives us the
opportunity to inform the public
about ‘Seven Days – Seven Ways’
they can help Adopt-A-Dog in its
mission: Donate Stuff; Donate
Money; Donate Time; Be a
Sponsor; Be an Advertiser; Adopt
an Animal; Share Your
Stories.” She concluded, “We
depend solely on donations to
continue our work of placing
approximately 250 dogs and cats
per year and, believe me, every
contribution, no matter how big
or small, helps us.”
