Support efforts to end childhood hunger
while sampling dishes from over 25 of
the finest chefs in Westchester. The
Food Bank for Westchester will host its
18th annual benefit "An
Evening in Good Taste," on October
23, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the
Atrium at 800 Westchester Avenue in Rye
Brook. Voted "Best Fundraising Gala"
by Westchester Magazine, the event is
the Food Bank's largest annual
fundraiser with 600 expected guests,
entertainment and a silent auction.
Entergy, a White-Plains based energy
company is the title sponsor of the
event.
On February 13, 2009, The Food Bank for
Westchester will host its thirteenth
annual Valentine’s Day gourmet wine
tasting dinner, “Take Heart Against
Hunger,” at the Tappan Hill Mansion in
Tarrytown, NY. Enjoy scenic views of
the Hudson River and mingle with
like-minded philanthropists all while
helping to eradicate hunger in
Westchester. The evening will feature a
cocktail hour followed by a five course
meal, designed exclusively for the event
by Executive Chef Alison Awerbuch, with
wine pairings for each course
Proceeds from both events will directly
benefit The Food Bank for Westchester,
which serves as the back bone of
Westchester’s emergency food
distribution network, providing over 90%
of all the food distributed by 190 grass
roots programs such as food pantries,
soup kitchens, shelters and residential
programs, helping to feed hungry
Westchester children and their families.
Ticket prices are $175 per person for
“An Evening In Good Taste” and $200 per
person for the Valentine’s Day Gourmet
Wine Tasting Dinner.
