Guests will travel back
in time to the tiki era
when Trader Vic’s at the
Plaza Hotel was a New
York hot spot at the 13th
annual Gala for
Greenwich Hospital to
benefit Emergency
Department Services on
Saturday, October 25, at
the Greenwich Country
Club.
More than 500 guests
from Connecticut and New
York are expected to
enjoy an evening of
dining, dancing, silent
and live auctions, a
wine auction and more.
The event will take
place from 6:30 p.m. to
11:30 p.m. at the
Greenwich Country Club
at 19 Doubling Road. In
true Polynesian spirit,
leave the black tie at
home—it’s island chic
for women, jackets for
men.
Greenwich residents
Susan Carmichael and Dee
Mayberry are the
co-chairs of the
volunteer committee
organizing the event.
Donald J. Kirk, former
chairman of the
hospital’s Board of
Trustees, will receive
the 7th
annual President’s Award
honoring people who have
made a significant
contribution to
Greenwich Hospital. Kirk
has served on the board
for nearly 20 years.
Among the gala’s
highlights will be the
raffle of a 2008 Lexus
hybrid SUV model
RX 400H donated by
Peter. B. Griffin,
William J. Griffin III
and Lexus of Greenwich.
Renny & Reed of New York
will create the
Polynesian décor that
made Trader Vic’s such a
top destination. Guests
will enjoy music by Hot
Band NY. George McNeely
of Christie’s Auction
House in New York City
will lead the live
auction.
Proceeds will benefit
the comprehensive range
of emergency services
available at Greenwich
Hospital, which each
year handles about
39,000 visits from
residents in Fairfield
and Westchester
counties. Patients are
treated by a team of
specially trained
physicians and nurses
experienced in the
latest emergency
life-saving technologies
and treatments. The
hospital also serves as
a regional resource for
emergency services.
Gala tickets cost $2,500
(Vice Chair), $1,500
(Benefactor), $1,000
(Patron) and $600
(Individual). Tables of
10 are available for
Vice Chair, Benefactor
and Patron levels.
