Summer
is fast approaching and the Hamptons
are already a buzz with the upcoming
event season. One event which will
once again stand out this summer is
the American Heart Association’s 12th
Annual Heart of the Hamptons Gala.
This incredibly anticipated event
will be taking place on the grounds
of the Hayground School in
Bridgehampton on Saturday, June 21.
This
year’s event honorees will be
Christie Brinkley who will receive
the Humanitarian With Heart award,
Dottie Herman, President & C.E.O.,
Prudential Douglas Elliman Real
Estate who will receive the
Distinguised Community Leadership
Award, Michael J. Wolk, MD, MACC,
Past-President, The American College
of Cardiology receiving the
Distinguished Service Award and
Robert McMahon, President, U.S.
Pharmaceuticals, Merck & Co., Inc
receiving the Distinguished
Corporate Leadership Award. This
year’s
Master of Ceremonies will be Chuck
Scarborough, Anchor, NBC4.
The Heart of the Hamptons Gala is an
elegant and festive event focused on
raising funds for the mission of the
American Heart Association. Friends
and colleagues from NYC, Long Island
and the Hamptons enjoy the beautiful
setting of the Hamptons while eating
delicious heart healthy foods,
drinking delightful local wines and
having fun with the music and
dancing.
This
upscale, elegant evening will
consist of an Evening in Monte
Carlo theme which will feature
casino games, a cocktail hour, live
& silent auction. “The
American Heart Association is
focusing on the issues that
contribute to childhood obesity and
what influences their lifestyles”
said Event Chair,
Robert J. Eide, C.E.O., Aegis
Capital. “Funds raised at this gala
will help to save children’s lives
through research and education” said
Eide.
Prior to the evening’s events, the
American Heart Association will be
hosting a Women & Heart Disease
Forum which is free and open to the
public beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the
Hayground School. Speakers will
include

Wayne Isom, M.D., Layne Lieberman -
Liebelson, R.D., Jean Cacciabaudo,
M.D. and many others. Topics will
include: Hypertension, healthy food
shopping and prevention and
detection, stress and many more.
