Palm Beach, Florida – The
allure of the
fashion industry
will take center
stage for an
insightful lecture
by Ira Neimark
who spent more than
17 years as CEO of
the world famous
Bergdorf Goodman
located on
fashionable
Fifth Avenue
in New York City. Mr. Neimark has written
a book Crossing
Fifth Avenue to
Bergdorf
Goodman from
which he will share
his experiences and
lessons learned at
Bergdorf where the
store catered to a
distinct client base
of fame, royalty and
wealth. The
inaugural Palm
Beach Luncheon
is scheduled for
11:30am on Thursday,
December 4, 2008

In 1975, Mr. Neimark
became the first

documents that he
transformed the
elite retailer from

dull, expensive and
‘intimidating’
store, into a young,
exciting, expensive
and ‘intimidating’
store.”
Bergdorf Goodman
was a family owned
company that was
founded in the year
1901.
Among Mr. Neimark’s
stunning
achievements as the
celebrated CEO of
Bergdorf, he
reintroduced
European couture
fashions in the United States showcasing Italian and
French designers.
And, Mr. Neimark
was among the first
at a major high-end
specialty store to
host private parties
for the top clients
of Bergdorf Goodman
where couture
fashions were
highlighted.
Crossing Fifth
is replete with
intriguing and
personal stories
about famous people
such as Princess
Diana, Jacqueline
Kennedy Onassis,
Donald Trump and
Leonard Lauder.
The Master of
Ceremony for the
inaugural Palm Beach
Luncheon is Kara
Kostanich who is
