During a fabulous party in the hollywood Hills at the home of
Keith Addis and Keri Selig, guests including Alicia
Silverstone,
Patricia Arquette, and Nicky Hilton were given a sneak peak
at the national PSA, which premiered on television before
the
Michael Vick sentencing. The party was one that was not to
be late too - hostess Keri Selig said that 150 cars were
contracted
for 7:00 PM and 205 actually showed at the allotted
hour...and the last guest didnęt leave until well past 11
PM.
While enjoying fabulous vegan fare created by Chef Wolfgang
Puck in the classic 1900s home and surrounding the gorgeous
pool, Wayne Pacelle, the President of the Humane Society of
the United States, thanked BeKind founder Frances Hayward
and
Russell Simmons, who could not attend, for working with the
HSUS for making this very poignant PSA to help put an end to
the barbaric practice of dogfighting and to encourage people
to –fight for kindness.”
The exclusive cocktail party was in honor of the Humane
Society of the United States. There was a 30-second version
made
which left quite an impression on the guests and everyone
noted that it was a powerful portrayal that anyone can
relate to. The
PSA that was shown follows one tiny terrier, left tied
outside a store, while the owner goes to shop. As quickly as
you can say
Michael Vick, the dog is kidnapped. The next shot is of the
little petęs mouth being taped shut so it cannot defend
himself, and
then the dog is put in the ring and used as –bait” to
encourage a pit bull to kill. The little dogęs terrified
eyes tell the story better
than any words! At the end of the PSA, Simmons, Hayward and
Pacelle encourage viewers to –be kind.” For more information
