The Museum of the Moving Image held its 23rd annual gala at Cipriani’s 42nd Street. It was a spectacular sold out event. The
impressive room was a buzz with some of Hollywood’s most acclaimed actors, directors, and producers mingled with New York
Society. Everyone gathered to honor Tom Cruise for his unprecedented career and achievements.
Herbert. S. Schlosser, Chairman of the Museum and Rochelle Slovin, Museum Director commented, “Tom Cruise is simply the
most enduring movie star of his generation. His first movie role was in 1981, the year the Museum was
founded.”
Tom, with his beautiful wife Katie by his side, lit up the room with his smile and graciousness, greeting and speaking with as
many guests as he possibly could.
Integrity and civility are more than words to Tom. They are his way of life.
He constantly challenges himself. Tom spoke with a passion for his life, his
relationships, and his craft stating, “Movies are the magic carpet where one
can transcend to the depths of
their imagination.” Tom is now taking on a new role as film studio executive,
with his business partner, United Artist CEO Paula Wagner. For more information
