STAMFORD, CT - The Child Guidance Center of Southern
Connecticut (CGC) has announced that Alexandra
Godfrey Walko, Kenda McDonnell, Laura Weintraub
Beck, and Dr. Amy Zabin will serve as the co-chairs
of the Steering Committee for its 2009
Come Play!...It's Field Day
Gala.
CGC board members Paul Hampel of Old
Greenwich and Sallyan Zenko of Rowayton will also
serve on the committee.
Greenwich
resident Alexandra Godfrey Walko works as the sales
and marketing coordinator for JMW Consultants Inc.
in Stamford. Kenda McDonnell of New Canaan serves as
the marketing manager for Cummings & Lockwood LLC in
Stamford and is also a member of the firm’s
administrative management committee. Laura Weintraub
Beck is a Principal resident in the Greenwich,
Conn., office of Cummings & Lockwood LLC, where she
is a member of the Private Clients Group practicing
in the area of Trusts and Estates. Dr.
Amy Zabin is a music therapist who currently has a
private practice in Greenwich and provides
consultations to Greenwich, Stamford and Norwalk
Hospitals. McDonnell, Beck and Zabin are all CGC
board members.

make our annual gala a playful and unique event,
while reinforcing the agency’s mission to restore
childhood for those children who struggle with
mental health issues,” said

Field Day
Gala will be held at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in
Greenwich on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. The
event will include a cocktail reception and dinner
catered by Abigail Kirsch, music provided by James
Daniel, dancing and live and silent auctions. The
proceeds will benefit the CGC’s mental health
programs for children, teens and families in
Stamford, Greenwich, Darien and New Canaan.

The
Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut is a
non-profit mental health resource, serving children
and teenagers in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien and New
Canaan, both self referred and through referrals
from schools, courts, human service agencies, and
physicians. The CGC’s clinical staff of
psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and
marriage and family therapists work with more than
2,100 children annually, providing culturally
competent and sensitive care to families
representative of the rich ethnic mix of communities
CGC serves. Preventative services are provided to
youngsters, parents, and professionals through
public education and consultation programs.

Connecticut Department of Children & Families,
Connecticut Office of Victim Crime Service and
United Ways of Western Connecticut, Greenwich, and
