(PALM BEACH) –
Terry Allen Kramer is not going to get away with
too much, driving her sporty new
2009 MINI Cooper Clubman.
She is bound to be recognized by the end-to-end British
flag emblazoned on its roof. Kramer and friend, Jimmy
Nederlander “shared” the new wheels, snatching it up
after the car’s winner, Tom Quick, offered it up in an
impromptu live auction at À Votre Santé!,
FoundCare’s second annual benefit to raise funds and
awareness for a non-profit Community Health
Center at 2330 South Congress Avenue. The event’s grand
benefactor, Mark Brentlinger, donated the car as a
raffle prize.
The auction wasn’t
the only surprise in the people-packed Gala Tent at
Market Salamander on December 12, 2008. Sheila Johnson,
Market Salamander owner and À Votre Santé honorary
co-chair, announced a $10,000 challenge gift to the
Center, which she had toured earlier in the day. Mia
Matthews took the stage to sing FoundCare’s theme song,
“Help is on the Way,” and Brazilian Carnivale
dancers added to the “what more can happen next!”
flavor. Modeled after New York’s successful Fete de
Swifty, the event gathered nearly 400 to toast
FoundCare’s healthy efforts.
Scheduled to open
to patients in early 2009, FoundCare’s fundraising
efforts will benefit the full-service, non-profit
Community Health Center, designed to provide affordable
access to quality healthcare, with primary medical,
dental and preventive services to children and families
in Palm Beach County. The Community Health Center will
serve all patients -- including the uninsured and
underinsured.
The party honored
grand benefactor Mark
Brentlinger, as well as event chairmen Margo
MacNabb Nederlander and Tom Quick, honorary chairmen
Pamela Fiori and Sheila Johnson, and associates chairmen
Elizabeth Finkle Sans and Mona de Sayve.
Sponsors for À
Votre Santé! included CIRCA, Connaught Hotel, London;
Frank Crystal and Company, Mark Brentlinger’s
MAG Midwestern Auto Group
MINI, Market Salamander, Padania Wines,
Salvatore Ferragamo, Sotheby’s and Town and Country
magazine.
