“Glitz Nightclub – Open for One Night Only” was the
hottest party on the island on Saturday December 6th
at Mar-a-Lago Club. Known as the sexiest and most
sizzling ball in Palm Beach, March of Dimes Glitz Chairs
Elizabeth Belkin, Maria Brown, and Leslie Linder along
with Honorary Chairs Annie Falk and Lori Stoll, and
Junior Chairs Benjamin Macfarland III pulled out all the
stops this year and surpassed expectations when nearly
300 guests were treated to a unique nightclub
experience.
"Our goal was to raise over $400,000 for
March of Dimes and to create an event like no other,"
said Glitz Chairs. “This year we took Glitz to another
level with a new venue that was all the glamour and
pizzazz event goers expect from Glitz.”
From the cocktail area with music by DJ
Jean Marc where extremely large bouncers guarded the red
carpet entrance to the Grand Ballroom converted into a
one-of- a-kind nightclub with spectacular décor,
colorful lighting, and entertainment by the one and only
Bruce Sutka, attendees were enthralled with the
transformation.
Guests were also treated to non-stop dance music by
Mel Ball
and Colours, fantastic food and drink, a
wide array of best bid items, as well as luxury live
auction items. Live Auction raised over $68,000 event
night including items like
a BVLGARI watch which sold for $12,500 to Mr. and Mrs.
Anthony Beyer who generously donated it back and which
then sold for another $10,500 to Mr. and Mrs. Nelson
Gerard; a trip on board the luxury motor yacht ALLISON
Sunseeker 90 during summer in the Mediterranean or off
the coast for 7 days for 8 people; a private party for
100 with catering by Forte Di Asprinio, liquor and go-go
dancers provided by Palm Beach Proper Vodka, décor by
Bruce Sutka of Sutka Productions International, Inc.,
and music by Jean Marc; and V1 JETS Seaplane Service for
8 with a catered lunch by Café Sapori beachside on a
private island in the Florida Keys.
The program included WPBF Channel 25’s
Felicia Rodriquez acting as mistress of ceremonies and
auctioneer along with professional Bill Hood; Abdol
Moabery, the father of the evening’s Ambassador child,
Chase Moabery; former Judge Bill Berger representing
Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler, Attorneys at Law; and Dinner
Chair Donald Trump who introduced Florida’s governor by
saying, “When asked by Governor Crist about the event, I
told him I love the March of Dimes, I’ll do anything for
March of Dimes.” Governor Charlie Crist then thanked
guests for their attendance and support of March of
Dimes and their mission to insure that all babies
receive a healthy start.
