WEST PALM BEACH,
Fla. – The exclusive Phillips Point Club by
The Breakers provided the setting for the Young
Friends of the Historical Society of Palm Beach
County to recognize the Host Committee and sponsors
of the 14th Annual Evening on Antique
Row. The invitation only event, hosted by Emily
Marrah and Meg O’Grady of the Phillips Point Club,
included a sumptuous array of appetizers and
cocktails presented by the impeccable service and
culinary staff of The Breakers. A panoramic view of
the intercoastal waterway, the island of Palm Beach,
and the Atlantic Ocean, provided a breathtaking
backdrop for the evening.
The November 20
reception of more than 150 guests was co-chaired by
Kristy and Grier Pressly and Carin and Derek Acree,
and included Tracy Coffey, President of the South
Dixie Antique Row Association, Penny and Keith
Williams, Benjamin Macfarland and Christina
Matthews, Laura and Shakir Wissa, Susan Gibson,
Scott Velozo, Stephen Mooney, Steven Stolman, Mark
Brentlinger, Jennifer McNeill, Carol and Tom
Kirchhoff, Susan and Mark Elhilow, Monique Merrill
and Harvey Oyer, Jane and Gordon Brown, Tiffany and
George Cloutier, Nicole and David Atkinson, Aime
Dunstan, Melanie and Chris Hill, Virginia Oatley,
Christine DiRocco, Reggie Dominique, Sarah Alsofrom,
Katie and Ben Alexander, Ed Sheahan, Linda Goings,
Penny Murphy, and representatives from the
participating restaurants and sponsors of the
Antique Row event.
The 14th
Evening on Antique Row will be held March 7, 2009,
and is the Young Friends’ signature event where shop
owners along Antique Row in West Palm Beach open
their stores and display beautiful antiques to more
than 1,700 visitors. Trolley service, bicycles, and
horse and
carriage rides offer guests quick passage along
South Dixie Highway, which is closed to automobile
traffic during the event. An eclectic blend of music
fills the air as more than thirty area restaurants
and beverage outlets provide light refreshments for
all. This festive evening culminates with the Young
Friends’ “After Party” for the Host Committee and
sponsors at Hotel Biba. The Evening on Antique
Row is co-chaired by Grier Pressly and Janet
Murphy.
Funds raised from
the Evening on Antique Row will be used to support
the educational programs of the Historical Society
of Palm Beach County and the Richard and Pat Johnson
Palm Beach County History Museum. For more
