March 4th, 2009. New York City.
Philanthropists Sharon
Bush, Margo Langenberg and Jean Shafiroff hosted a luncheon
at New York City’s exclusive Le Cirque restaurant to
announce Pastors Joel and Victoria Osteen’s upcoming event
“A Historic Night of Hope”. The luncheon crowd was
sprinkled with a few
gentlemen but was made up of many beautiful ladies who
donned their finest attire to brave New York’s slushy
streets on a blustery cold winter day to hear what the
hostesses had to say. Pastors Joel and Victoria Osteen are
coming to New York and will be a part of the much awaited
opening night ceremony at the new Yankee Stadium. Pastor
Joel Osteen of Lakewood Church will be accompanied by
GRAMMY award-winning worship
leader Israel Houghton who will be the first music performer
of any genre to perform at
the new Yankee Stadium in New York City.
“A Historic Night of Hope” will take place April 25th.
On April 21, 2009 Sharon Bush, Margo Langenberg and
Jean Shafiroff will host a special
dinner at the National Arts Club welcoming
Joel & Victoria to New York.
Individual tickets for the dinner
which include attending the event at Yankee Stadium are:
$600 & $1,000 Junior tickets (Age 35 & under) $350.

Jean Shafiroff mentioned that in these times of economic and
social challenges, we need a universal spirit of hope, love
and understanding. Pastors Joel and Victoria Osteen
bring us that spirit. They are an essential and
positive force who speak to us regardless of our faith,
attitude and economic well being. They generate
positive universal love for their fellow man without any
demands.
"It is an honor to be able to host this luncheon with two
very special friends, Margo Langenberg and Sharon Bush.
Thanks to Sharon Bush, Margo and I are proud to be involved
in a series of events leading up to the Osteens upcoming
"Historic Night of Hope" on April 25th at the New Yankee
Stadium". While introducing Sharon Bush, Shafiroff said that among many of Sharon’s accomplishments,
the one that she is most proud of is when she received the National Mother of
the Year Award in 2001. She also mentioned “FEED bag”, a
project that Sharon is involved with along with her daughter
Lauren Bush. The project has already raised over $5,000,000
to feed starving children throughout the world.
Sharon Bush spoke of Joel Osteen saying, "He is like family
to me". Through her support of
the Osteens, she wants to spread their message of hope to
others.
Dianne Bernhard, a fellow Texan, spoke of her discovery of
the Osteen’s church years ago and its humble beginnings. She remarked about the economic times and
that we must find hope and deliverance from impossible
trials.
Some guests were not familiar with Pastors Joel and Victoria
Osteen when they arrived, but by the time lunch was
finished, I feel that everyone left with some knowledge of
their teachings and inspiration for hope.
