(WEST PALM BEACH)
– School was in session for Kenn Karakul and other
Center for Creative Education event committee members
who met at the Little Red School House in Palm Beach
recently to finalize plans for the upcoming Spring
Luncheon. With its “School Daze” theme, the March 25th
luncheon is on track to top year’s past for revealing
the child in each attendee.
“This year’s
luncheon theme takes us back to our mission – to find
creative ways to make learning fun for children at
school,” said Tom Pilecki, executive director of CCE.
“We have some exciting things planned for the afternoon
and are exited to show our guests the impact that CCE’s
programming has on the way children learn. We are
thankful for the support of our sponsors, donors and
committee.”
Luncheon committee members have put together a creative
lesson plan for the afternoon. After role call, guests
will be treated to a garden reception at 11:30, seated
lunch at noon and a special performance by Bak Middle
School of the Arts Chorale Ensemble.
During
the luncheon, guests will have a chance to take home a
fabulous piece of jewelry from Verdura. Drawing tickets
are $50 each or $250 for a book of six.
“At
CCE, a circle of dedicated artists who love working with
kids are making a difference in the way students learn
and assimilate new information,” said Karakul, honorary
chairman of the 10th annual event. “Teachers
and progressive administrators are seeking out these
capable and supportive artist partners and students are
benefiting from the collaboration. Now more than ever,
it is critical that we continue to raise funds and
support the programming through CCE.”
CCE is a
not-for-profit educational organization that supports
partnerships among schools, arts and cultural
organizations, artists, community-based organizations,
and human service providers in order to integrate the
arts into academic curriculum and out-of-school
activities in Palm Beach County.
Along with
Karakul, committee members are David Atkinson, Gina
Borman, Beau Breckenridge, Gordon K. Brown III, Paulette
Burdick, Susie Dwinell, Philip Friedly, Jamie Gordon,
