League “Women of the Year” Luncheon is an annual event at
which the City of Hope’s Spirit of Life Award is presented to
a woman of high achievement and leadership who has made
notable contributions to both her community and her
profession. Brooke Shields accepted in honor of her Father
Frank Shields, who passed away last year of prostate cancer.
The City of Hope, the largest cancer research hospital in the
country will initiate a grant and fellowship in the name of
Mr. Shields. Melissa Cohn, owner and CEO of the Manhattan
Mortgage Company also received an award.
