New York May 22, 2007. Project Runway's Tim Gunn hosted this
fabulous fashion show featuring handsomely clad gentleman and
their well coiffed furry friends.
The event was held to benefit The Stray from the Heart
organization. Stray from the Heart is dedicated to the rescue,
rehabilitation and adoption of homeless dogs. They do so
without the benefit of paid employees or a shelter facility.
They rely on the commitment of volunteers who donate their
time and professional skills to fulfill their mission. Through
their network of foster homes, they strive to offer good dogs
facing uncertain futures new hope and a better life in a
stable and caring home. In every sense of the word, Stray from
the Heart is dedicated to the dream of a no kill nation. To
this end, they have joined the new York City Mayor's Alliance
for Homeless Animals, a coalition of animal welfare
organizations and the City of New York aimed at developing
creative and humane solutions to animal care and control
issues. The generosity of individual and corporate supporters
had been vital to their grassroots work, and to the
fulfillment of their mission.
