When
asked the recipe for a successful Experience
Board President Tammy Clarke was quick to quip, “Take
three celebrity judges, add over thirty local
restaurants, ten tables of fine wine, a unique vodka
bar, a sparkling rum bar, add a dash of live music and
you have a winning recipe for the Lake Worth
Food & Wine Experience, an annual benefit
for the American Lung Association. The event will
take place on Friday, October 9, 2009 from
7:00 – 9:30 p.m. at the Lake Worth Cultural Plaza, at
Lake Avenue and “M” Street, in downtown Lake Worth,
providing a delightful ambiance for the expected 500
attendees. The plaza will be transformed into a virtual
outdoor
oasis complete with fantastic food tastings from a
selection of Palm Beach County’s most sought after
restaurants and caterers, sumptuous wines provided by
event wine sponsor Total Wine & More, vodka martinis
served up by Ketel One Vodka, and music by
Entertainment2nite. The organization is proud to
announce that
Greg
Rice, Lake Worth’s favorite son, will return as “Grand
Wine Meister”
for the event.
Featured celebrity
chef judges will preside over a competition for top
tasting and presentation honors in appetizer, entrée and
dessert categories. Celebrity judges include Chef John
Carlino from Cooks, Inc. restaurant in Abacoa,
Chef Frank Eucalitto from Café Chardonnay in Palm
Beach Gardens, and food columnist and critic Ken Spahn
from Restaurant Placement Group.
According to
SouthFloridaDines.com’s Founder, Taylor Morgan, the
Experience “was one of the best food & wine
events I've ever been to. The venue was perfect. The
weather was perfect. There was absolutely no shortage
of delicious food from their over 30 restaurant vendors.
And they did a great job setting up many, many wine
stations, which helped prevent long wine lines. Big
Applause to the team of people at The American Lung
Association for bringing it all together so well -
really, really a great event!!"
