Mercato Internazionale Dell’Antiquariato
(Florence International Antique Biennale)
Date: September 26th

Description: The Florence
International Antique Fair has reached its
50th year gathering 90 of the
most prestigious galleries of the world (72
Italian and 18 foreign) in the magnificent
Palazzo Corsini, home of the most important
private collection in Florence.
It was 1959 when a
bight insight of Mario and Giusseppe Bellini
brought to brith the most important antique
event in Italy and one of the most
significant in the world. Since 2001, Pier
Luigi Pizzi, the director, scenic designer
and costume creator has been staging a
classic and elegant décor that perfectly
meets and enhances the demands of the
exhibitors.
The main collateral
show of the 26th Biennale will be
coral in its various artistic
interpretations and once again, the Lorenzo
D’oro price for the short film on a historic
– artistic subject will be given this year
to Folco Quilci for his cinema and
documentary oeuvre as whole. Also, the
tradition of devolving part of the proceeds
from the entry ticket for the inaugural
evening for the restoration of a work of art
of public property is continued this year,
as well as the charity initiative in favor
of the “Corri la Vita” association devoted
to the study and prevention of breast
cancer.
The Florence
International Antique fair of Palazzo
Corsini in Florence, having weathered so
many different season of taste, fashion and
trends, is an unrivalled example of balance
and far-sightedness at both Italian and
International levels.
