The evening will begin with a reception
for Landmarks of New York
and Harlem 1970-2009:
Photographs by Camilo José Vergara,
two new photography exhibitions at the
New-York Historical Society that
document the architectural landmarks of
New York City and trace the changing
face of the legendary neighborhood of
Harlem. It will be followed by a panel
discussion about Landmarks and their
Impact on the City and its Future

Distinguished guests include
Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel,
Landmarks of
New York
curator and
Camilo José Vergara,
MacArthur Foundation “genius award”
winner.
Panelists include:
Paul Goldberger,
Architecture critic for The New
Yorker, Meredith Kane, Paul,
Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP,
and Robert Tierney, Chairman of
the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
(Ms. Dimonstein-Spielvogel and Mr.
Vergara have donated all of the
photographs and prints in these
exhibitions to the New-York Historical
Society.)
