Artists Bios:
Frank August
is a Brooklyn photographer
born and raised in New York.
Watching his dad's passion for
photography, he developed his
interest in photography at a young
age. He always carried a camera
around snapping away at his friends
in school. To this day, he still has
shoe boxes with undeveloped rolls
from his high school days.
Frank August has no formal training
in art or photography. He became an
early adopter of the digital
photography revolution. His first
digital camera was a 1.3 megapixel
Sony.
Now Frank August shoots high end
digital as well as black & white
film with a Leica rangefinder,
developing in his bathroom. His work
includes art, fashion, beauty,
photojournalism. With themes
relating to urban cultures,
identity, minorities and urban life,
his work allows him to complete a
part of his life and identity.
Gary St.
Clare
is a digital artist who was
born and raised in New York,
Manhattan. He began his formal art
training at LaGuardia High School of
the Arts in New York City with a
concentration in Art & Music. He
studied at the Art Students League
for Illustration, built a strong
portfolio and continued on to the
School of Visual Arts (SVA) majoring
in Graphics Design where he combined
Illustration, graphics & typography.
After graduating SVA he studied in
Barcelona, then returned to New York
to work with a broad range of
commercial companies in advetising
and the music industry. St. Clare’s
experience in the commercial world
has enabled him to produce work that
represent other people’s vision.
His work presents his personal
stance on life that the audience can
universally be touched and relate
to. He is on a life long quest to
refine his artistic knowledge and
technique to express what surrounds
him as a member of the society.
Béatrice
Kusiak is a Franco-Polish
young artist. She studied Fine Arts
at the University of Paris 8, and
completed her studies with training
in Fine Arts in Granada (Spain),
where she actively took part in José
Freixanes' workshop, and studied
drawing at a workshop with Elbzieta
Kalinowska Motkowicz at the Koszalin
Design Institute in Poland. She also
completed courses at the Warsaw Fine
Arts Academy.
Her Andalusian and Moroccan
experiences (the installation and
realization of José Freixanes' work
Al Final del Amanecer in Casablanca,
Morocco) probably influenced her
work with fabric.
Although her
realizations are mainly paintings,
it does not exclude the various
performances, photographs and
experiences in nature and in the
urban landscape, that all take part
of an attitude in quest of fluidity
in our daily lives.
She is currently working in a
Parisian suburb.
Virginie
Sommet is a mid-career
artist from Paris, France. She has
been active in the New York City art
scene for the past 8 years. Her
focus has been on creating found
object sculptures that reflect her
familiarity with a wide range of
social issues. Sommet is driven to
visually tackle challenging topics
that examine societal constraints.
The focus is on matters that
separate individuals related to
gender and urban subcultures issues.
She is vigilant and dedicated in
spreading awareness of this topic to
mainstream viewers. In addition to
her various exhibitions and Art
Salons, her work is in private
collections of Archbishop Desmond
Tutu, President Nelson Mandela,
Susan Sarandon and Terry
George.Besides her high profile
collectors, her work continue to be
supported by Eyal Levy, Dr.Martin
Rotman of New York and Yolanda
TorresTorres of Barcelona, Spain and
many others.
