(New York, NY) - The Christopher & Dana
Reeve Foundation will host its 19th annual A
Magical Evening gala on Monday, November
9, 2009 at The Marriott Marquis in New York
City. This year’s gala will recognize the
results of a recently published study sponsored
by the Reeve Foundation, which shows that 5.6
million Americans are living with paralysis,
1.275 million of those as a result of spinal
cord injury.
Proceeds will benefit the Christopher & Dana
Reeve Foundation, which is dedicated to curing
spinal cord injury by funding innovative
research, and improving the quality of life for
people living with paralysis through grants,
information and advocacy.
The evening’s
celebration committee includes David Blaine,
Cristina Carlino, Glenn Close, Jack and Gail
Hughes, Peter and Eaddo Kiernan, Francine LeFrak
& Rick Friedberg, John Lithgow, Raul and Tia
Pedraza, Henry Stifel, Meryl Streep, and Wilmer
Valderrama.
The cocktail reception
will begin at 6:30PM followed by dinner at
7:00PM. Dress is Black tie optional. Support
levels are as follows: Tables at $100,000,
$50,000, $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000 and
individual tickets at $2,500 and $1,000.
