Raton, FL--The
League for Educational Awareness of the
Holocaust (LEAH) is kicking-off an ambitious
fundraising season with a ground-breaking
raffle of a Mercedes C-Class sedan or a GLK
SUV as the prize. Raffle tickets are $100
and only 999 will be sold. The winner will
be drawn at LEAH"s "Denim, Diamonds & Dice"
Casino Night which will take place at
Pavilion Grille, Boca Raton, on October 3,
2009.
LEAH
President, Robert Alrod, commented, "We are
very excited about this new type of fund
raising for LEAH and extremely grateful to
Mercedes Benz Pompano for making the raffle
possible."
Proceeds
from the Mercedes raffle will benefit LEAH's
educational programs, such as Palm Beach and
Broward School Districts' Department of
Multicultural & Holocaust Studies as well as
programs at FAU and PBCC. These programs
impact the education of tens of thousands of
students each year.
LEAH is a
non-sectarian, not-for-profit organization
whose mission is to raise awareness and
funds to support and encourage educational
efforts for children to help eliminate
prejudice and hatred using lessons learned
from the Holocaust and other genocides
including: the Armenian massacre, Darfur,
Rwanda and Bosnia.
During it's
lifetime, LEAH has funded over $1.5 million
for tolerance projects and programs for
youth.
