On July 12, Francisco J. Núñez and 35
members of the Award-Winning chorus are
leaving New York for a 25-day, 18-city tour
of Japan.
The chorus will be singing an exciting
mix of contemporary classical
compositions, traditional songs from
around the world, American gospel music,
and even a celebration of the New York
City subway system, with Billy
Strayhorn's Take The A Train
and Michael Gordon's Every Stop on
the F Train.

The tour is sponsored by Min-On
Concert Association, a Japanese
company dedicated to encouraging young
people to develop their artistic abilities
through music festivals, concerts, and
competitions.
YPC captured Min-On's attention in 2005 in
Kyoto at the Seventh World Symposium on
Choral Music and they have
already engaged the chorus to return to
Japan in summer of 2010 to sing in 12
additional Japanese cities! |
