The Children's Memorial Hospital Pro Amateur
Golf Championship will mark 50 years of philanthropy
with a spectacular Golden Celebration in June 2010
as part of the 50th edition of The Pro Am,
which is the second oldest event of its kind in the U.S.
Who: The
Pro Am is Chicago's most anticipated charity golf event with
hundreds of business
leaders and golf enthusiasts taking part each year, along
with golf professionals from the nation's most prestigious
country clubs. Arnold Palmer, Chi Chi Rodriquez, Jack
Nicklaus, Homero Blancas, Gene Sarazen and Lee Trevino are
just a few of the golf professionals who have participated
in years past.
Why:
As the signature fundraising event of the Founders Board of
Children's Memorial, the Pro Am has raised more than $12
million for the renowned pediatric hospital in the last
decade alone. This
year's event is expected to raise more than $1
million to benefit the children and families served by
Children's Memorial.
When: A spectacular Golden
Celebration is planned for the evening of Saturday, June
26, 2010. The 50th Annual Pro Am Golf
Championship will follow on Monday, June 28, 2010.
Where:
Both events will take place at the Onwentsia Club in
Lake Forest, Illinois.
