The 29th annual benefit performance of the Big Apple Circus in support of Outreach, New York's leading non-profit organization providing treatment and guidance to young people battling addiction, returns to Queens in May.
This year's show, entitled "The Grand Tour," will be held Thursday, May 19, 6:30 p.m., at Cunningham Park.
Queens Borough President Melinda Katz will once again serve as Guest Ringmaster. The Circus Chairman will be Brian Rooney, account executive at Mutual of America.
According to the Big Apple Circus, "This year's theme will transport audiences to the beginning of the modern travel era, when the most thrill-seeking individuals began touring the world in ships, planes, trains and automobiles. Our world-class entertainers will amaze the crowd as they perform breathtaking acts from around the globe."
"We are honored to have the support of the Big Apple Circus, our sponsors and the great people of Queens and its surrounding areas who have been supporting this event for almost 30 years," said Kathleen Riddle, president and CEO of Outreach. "This magnificent show is a great opportunity for many people to come together to help fight drug and alcohol addiction while enjoying a wonderful performance."
