Women for Women International held it's second annual Women of
the World Awards Gala on November 30th at Chelsea Pier, Pier
60 in New York City. The event celebrated the achievements of
Christiane Amanpour and Sallie Krawcheck and the courage of
women survivors of war who are struggling to reclaim their
voices and rebuild their lives.
As CNN's International Correspondent, Christiane Amanpour is a
champion of courage, peace and women's empowerment. She has
spent much of her career reporting from dangerous conflict
zones, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Somalia
and Rwanda. Ms. Amanpour is renowned for her coverage of the
war in the Balkans.
Sallie Krawcheck is CFO of Citigroup Inc. Her name is
synonymous with honesty and integrity and she represents a
measure of professional excellence that women everywhere can
strive to emulate. |
