Palm Beach, FL - The Palm Beach Area
Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society today announced the success of
the organization’s annual fundraising
gala. The black-tie dinner dance took
place on Friday, March 7, 2008 at The
Ritz-Carlton in Manalapan.
Upon arrival, guests were greeted by
masked servers in powdered wigs offering
champagne and hors d’oeuvres. As they
entered the cocktail reception, stilt
walkers dressed as Marie Antoinette
floated around the room. During the
cocktail hour, guests bid on an array of
wonderful silent auction items such as a
beautiful necklace from Neiman Marcus,
Best of Palm Beach dining package
donated by Palm Beach Illustrated and an
evening at Rao’s in New York.
After cocktails, guests
were heralded by trumpets to announce
the opening of the ballroom doors. The
ballroom was a vision of hot pink roses
and other pink accents. The Sarasota
Ballet started the evening off by
performing a traditional minuet.
Following the performance, the Chairmen
did a brief welcome speech and then
turned the microphone over to two
Honored Heroes to share their story
about how leukemia had affected their
lives. After the speeches were finished,
guests grooved to the sounds of Private
Stock.
