in New York
Over 600 guests many of whom
had flown over specially from
Russia, enjoyed a fantastic evening
of world class performances and
inspiring insight into
Russian-American Relations at
Cipriani's on 42nd Street, NY.
Dr. Henry Kissinger, spoke of the
great successes and wonderful
achievements that have been a product
of this co-operation over the last
many years. He expressed the
thoughts of many in the room when
he expressed his wish for a continually
developing dialogue to counter
the problems we will face in an
increasingly volatile and
unnerving future.
The Honorable George.E.Pataki,
pointed out the significant contributions
of the Russian community to
New York, and expressed his hope
that the " Day of Russia in New
York" would grow to be a
national celebration.
His Excellency Yuri.V. Ushakov,
Mr. Anatoli S. Karpov, and Ioori
Smirnov, represented the many faces
of Russia in America, and did a
wonderful job making the guests
feel welcome.
