October 29, 2008 – New York, NY –Tuesday evening, October 28, Japanese fur designer, Chie Imai challenged the fusion of two worlds that have never met before by introducing an eco-friendly fur collection at Geisha on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.  Guests including Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr, his wife Vanessa and daughter Kai, Francine LeFrak, Spike Lee and his wife Tonya Lee Lewis, Dabney Mercer, Kristian Laliberte, Jamie Korey, Gillian Hearst Simonds, Merideth Melling Burke, model Irina Pantaeva and others enjoyed delicious sushi and other Japanese delicacies while sipping on champagne and  Chie-tinis.  At the event, Chie Imai and her beautiful daughter Chiaki Imai introduced the newest designs by Royal Chie made of an elegant eco-friendly material, ECO CIRCLE™; the worlds most advanced recycling system from Teijin.

Chie Imai, the fur designer and owner at Royal Chie, conceived this eco-friendly fashion collection that is a fusion of luxury furs and ecological materials manufactured by Teijin Fibers Limited of the Teijin Group, ECO RECTRAS.  With Chie Imai’s longstanding interest in the global environment, she has won International recognition for her policy of not disrupting natural ecosystems and only using the highest quality farmed furs.  Teijin Fiber Limited, the core company of the Teijin Group’s polyester fibers operation has developed the world’s first closed-loop recycling system using chemical recycling technology for polyester.  Their process of recycling reduces energy consumption and CO2 emission by approximately 80% and is now part of Chie Imai’s luxury fur collection.  At a first glance fur and ecology appear to be poles apart but Chie Imai has challenged the fusion of the two worlds that have never met before.  

The result is furs that are part of the “green movement”.  They highlight Chi Imai’s exquisite design aesthetic paired with most technologically advanced waterproof and breathable fabric in bold jewel tones such as teal, crimson and mustard mixed with luxurious fur trims and embellishments.
