The mission of Room to Grow is to enrich the lives of babies
born into poverty throughout their critical first three years
of development. Expecting parents are referred through
prenatal programs. Parents visit Room to Grow once every three
months, have one on one appointments with a social worker,
select new and nearly new clothing, books, toys and other
essentials free of charge. They receive valuable information
and support to ensure their child's health and secure start in
life for the first three years.
Room to Grow was founded in 1998 and expanded to Boston in
2004. Each year in New York, Room to Grow serves over 340
families. Together these families make over 1, 350 visits
annually. With continued needed support, these families are
given an opportunity for a better life.
