More than 600
professionals from every major firm on Wall Street gathered
November 12 for the 24th annual
St. Jude Presents Wall Street Taste of New York, raising
nearly $2 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Held at Guastavino’s, the Taste of New York event featured
cocktails, cuisine from
some of New York’s finest restaurants, live and silent
auctions, and a special give-away of Super Bowl tickets.
Guests heard from St. Jude mother, Kathy
Hagen, who shared the story of her son John’s courageous
fight against acute lymphoblastic leukemia at St. Jude. Her
husband, Richard J. Hagen Jr., is president and chief
operating officer of the privately held discount brokerage
firm TradeKing and is a member of the committee that
coordinates the Wall Street event.
Launched in 1989, Taste of New York has raised more than $38
million for St. Jude. Funding from the Wall Street
initiative has benefited research and treatment efforts at
the hospital, including the brain tumor program, pediatric
HIV/AIDS research and the naming of the Infectious Disease
Research Floor in the Chili’s Care Center.
