On
Broadway, Cynthia Nixon
gives an astonishing performance
in Wit, by Margaret
Edson, about a poetry
professor diagnosed with
terminal ovarian cancer. We see
a realistic view of the clinical
details in the hospital, as well
as memories of her past life as
a child and in the classroom.
Off-Broadway, The Pearl
Theatre Company has revived
a
rare
production of The
Philanderer, by

of of his earlier plays and

to his brilliant career as a
playwright. A young man
wishes to marry a young
lady, but is pursued by an
ex-lover. Complications
ensue. The opening night
party was held in the lobby
of the theatre. NEWSical

I attended a press conference for Gore Vidal's The Best Man with an all star cast, including Angela Lansbury, Candice Bergen and James Earl Jones. This is one Broadway show that I am eagerly awaiting to see.NY Giant punter Sean Landeta displayed his Superbowl memorabilia from 1987 and 1991 and met the media and fans at the Empire Steak House.
Through unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to attend the first Chinese New Year Celebration by the New York Philharmonic. Fortunately, my guest was able to attend, and for her, the highlight of a magnificent program was the adorable Quintessenso Mongolian Children's Choir, who are 5-12-years old. They were dressed in traditional, colorful costumes, and the New York Times published two photos of these wonderful children in their review. The orchestra was conducted by guest conductor Long Yu, and included selections by four Chinese composers, and the program concluded with Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major, by Liszt, with the Lang Lang as soloist. It was very special night at the Philharmonic.
