The 22nd Annual Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation Benefit
Dinner & Auction, at Cipriani Wall Street is always a magnificent
event. It begins with a cocktail reception, followed by a delicious
dinner, a live auction, and a concert. This time the performers were Lukas
Nelson & Promise of the Real.
The three honorees were Kobi
Halperin, Valery Joseph and Marc
C. Taub. The
EMCEE was Chris
Wragge,
Co-Anchor CBS 2 News This
Morning.
Again, it was another memorable night.
Regina Weinrib organized a wonderful tribute for Sylvia Miles at
the Walter Reade Theater. Michael Musto was the host of a two
hour program, which featured film clips, photographs and speeches by
many of her friends. I knew Sylvia for over 40 years, and I loved her.
She was the most honest actress I have ever known, She won two Academy
Awards in a supporting role in Midnight Cowboy and Farewell My
Lovely, made three Andy Warhol films, sometimes completely
naked, and appeared in numerous Off-Broadway plays, Among the speakers
and friends were Roger Friedman, William Wolf, George Whipple, Aldon
James, Patrick McMullan, Wendy Keys, and many others too
numerous to name.

A delicious reception followed,
where I . chatted with many people,
who I had not seen in years. It was
a splendid afternoon, and brought
back many delightful memories.
I am the official photographer
for the Theater
Hall of Fame Dinner ,

is always a splendid affair,
honoring theatre people who have
been entertaining audiences for
25 years. Among the honorees
this year were Andre
DeShields, Donna McKechnie,
(photo below with Lee Roy
Reams), Ann Reinking, William
Ivey Long, Natasha Katz and
the late Thomas
Meeha n . Joel
Grey was
the host, and among the guests
and presenters were Saundra
Lee, Patrick Pacheco, Lee Roy
Reams, Dana Ivey ,
and many others too numerous to
name. It was a memorable
evening, organized, as always,
by Terry
Hodge Taylor.
Mark Bego has written a
new book, a coffee table volume,
entitled Supreme Glamour. Mary
Wilson was expected to
attend the party at The Cutting
Room, but she had to stay in
Los Angeles to appear on Dancing
With the Stars. However, one
celebrity did appear. It was my
favorite cowboy of the Village
People, Randy Jones, ( photo
below) who I photographed
with the author. It was a lovely
event, organized by David
Salidor
