The International Emmy Awards took
place at the New York Hilton. 1335 Sixth
Avenue, Among the many celebrities, I
photographed Greidys Gil ( photo
below) of Telemundo and sponsor Colleen
Rothschild ( photo below) of
Rothschild Beauty Company. Both
beautiful ladies were charming, and I
enjoyed chatting with them. It is always
one of the special nights in New York,
and the winners and presenters were all
glamorous and elegantly dressed. It is
like a fashion parade. It is one of my
favorite events of the year.
I was invited to a cocktail party by my
good friends, Sunny and Jeff ,
in their beautiful apartment on the 50th
floor overlooking the Hudson River. We
then went to the Marriott Marquis for a
delicious Thanksgiving dinner. It was a
lovely way to celebrate Thanksgiving.

The New York City Ballet presented George
Balanchine's The Nutcracker ,
at the David H. Koch Theater. I attended the
opening night performance of Balanchine's
wonderful gift to the New York audience. It
will run through December, and it will be
filled for every performance for the delight
of families. It will leave an indelible
impression on the children who attend, and
will instill in them a love for ballet. The
music of Peter
Ilyitch Tschaikovsky is
glorious, and the orchestra never sounded
better, under the baton of Andrew
Litton .
All the dancers were superb, and deserved
the tumultuous applause. Megan
Fairchild ,
supported by Gonzalo
Garcia ,
as The Sugarplum Fairy, and Erica
Pereira as
Dewdrop, were outstanding, and Georgina
Pazcoquin (Coffee), Sebastian
Villarini-Velez (Tea)
and Daniel
Ulbricht (Candy
Canes) in Act II were a joy to behold. The
ensembles in Act I (The Snowflakes) and in
Act II, and the adorable angels (children
from the School of American Ballet)
performed splendidly. The
scenery by Rouben Ter-Arutunian, the
costumes by Karinska and the original
lighting by Ronald Bates, and
lighting by Mark Stanley contributed
to the beautiful evening. Thank
you George!
