On June 15th Tanenbaum honored: Mark L. Wagar, President and
CEO, Empire BlueCross BlueShield, with our Corporate Bridge
Builder Award; and Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Alphonse
Fletcher University Professor and Director, W.E.B. Du Bois
Institute for African and African American Research at
Harvard University, with our Media Bridge-Builder Award.
CBS correspondent Michelle Miller served as the evening’s
Mistress of Ceremonies and Dr. Gates delivered Tanenbaum’s
Memorial Lecture. This year's Award Ceremony and Memorial
Lecture was held at The Pierre Hotel in New York City.
