(Palm Beach)—Dr. Jeffery E. Segall, professor of
anatomy and structural biology at Albert Einstein College of
Medicine in New York, was the guest speaker at the American
Cancer Society Island of Palm Beach Unit’s Laureate Society
Eighth Annual Luncheon on December 8th at Café
Boulud. He was joined by his esteemed colleague, Dr. Karl
Saxe of the American Cancer Society National Home Office in
Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Segall’s research focuses on chemotaxis, in which signal
transduction and cell shapes change and interact. A major
focus of his research is analyzing breast cancer cell
invasion and metastasis, with his long term goal of
identifying proteins important for cell motility, chemotaxis
and metastasis that can be used as targets for drug
development and prognosis.
Guests at the Laureate Society Luncheon included our Board
Members, and several of our distinguished Laureate Society
