PALM BEACH SYMPHONY HOSTS
“MIDNIGHT REVERIES, AGE OF ELEGANCE” GALA
A Dreamy Island Night and a
Dream Trip Creates a Wondrous Evening at the Flagler
PALM BEACH, FL (Feb. 24, 2015) – A dreamy night became a
reality as guests stepped into Henry Flagler's Gilded Age
estate for the Palm Beach Symphony’s “Midnight Reveries”
themed Gala. The opulence and grandeur of the famed Flagler
Museum, up-lit in blue, was the setting for an elegant
evening of dinner and dancing to live music and a live
auction offering an opportunity for a “Spanish Rendezvous in
Barcelona.”
The black-tie affair featured a cocktail reception in the
Grand Hall and an auction of three exquisite experiences,
highlighted by a concert in Spain. The once-in-a-lifetime
trip included the Symphony’s Spanish-born Artistic & Music
Director, Ramón Tebar, conducting Joshua Bell in concert
with the Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra
at L’Auditori in Barcelona this October. In addition, a
private dinner with Maestro Tebar, backstage meet and greet
with the performers, behind-the-scenes access to the dress
rehearsal, private transfers and three-nights at a five-star
luxury hotel comprised this experiential opportunity.
Arlette Gordon and Elizabeth Bowden chaired the sold-out
event in honor and memory of stalwart Palm Beach Symphony
supporter, Helen Bernstein, who served as Symphony Gala
chairwoman for several years alongside this season’s
Honorary Chairs, Bernadene Rand-Mileti and Doris Hastings.
“It is encouraging to see the support for this special night
that we have dedicated to our dear friend, Helen Bernstein,”
noted Gordon. “The annual Gala is an opportunity to help the
Palm Beach Symphony sustain the world-class symphonic music
that it has been providing for over 40 years. I am thankful
to the other Chairs, the committee, Symphony staff and our
gracious sponsors for this
evening’s success.”
Among the guests in attendance were Ann and Baxter Webb,
Patricia and Howard Lester, Elizabeth Remmert, Doris
Hastings, James Borynack, JoAnne and Lowell Jaeger, Diana
Paxton, Yolande de Bonvouloir, Helene Karp, Brownie McLean,
