Volunteers were honored for their years
of service, ranging from 15 to more than
30 years, with special recognition given
to Sarita Armstrong, who has been a
volunteer for 33 years. Sarita, who
volunteered at Hospice of Palm Beach
County shortly after moving to the
United States from England, reminisced
about the many times she and a group of
volunteers sing next to the bedside of a
hospice patient, sharing their gift of
music and joy.
More
than 450 volunteers and guests
gathered to celebrate, enjoying
the Paris theme and the dozens of tiny,
illuminated Eiffel Towers throughout the
room with lively music that attracted
guests to dance everything from the
CanCan to Conga lines.
The
event gave well deserved recognition to
Hospice of Palm Beach County volunteers
who often say they get much more from
their service than they could ever give.
