The Classic!
hosted by Clarence
Clemons literally rocked
the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel
& Casino on Sunday, January
25 to benefit Home Safe, a
Palm Beach County nonprofit
organization that helps
abused and neglected
children. Much to the
delight of the 500 guests at
the dinner, the legendary
saxophone player jammed with
friends like fellow E Street
Band member drummer Max
Weinstein, T.M. Stevens
from Temple of Soul,
drummers Carmine Appice
(Vanilla Fudge) and Nicko
McBrain (Iron Maiden),
mega producer Narada
Michael Walden (Aretha
Franklin, Whitney Houston,
Mariah Carey) and Davy
Jones (The Monkees).
“We are so grateful for the
long time support from
Clarence and his friends.
It definitely makes a huge
difference in Home Safe’s
ability to continue to give
these kids a home and a
chance in life that they
deserve,” said Matthew
Ladika, CEO of Home Safe.
Guests also
mingled freely with other
celebrities supporting the
cause including actor
Daman Wayons,
retired baseball player
Cecil Fielder,
retired basketballer
Roy Hinson, '72
Dolphin Bob
Kuechenberg,
Dolphins Hall of Famer
Dwight Stephenson,
Senator Dave Aronberg,
Dolphins Twan Russell,
Lawrence Wright,
former Gator and Cincinnati
Bengal among many others.
And somehow the next morning
all the celebrities made it
to the second half of the
event, the charity golf
tournament.
