HOUSTON
(March 8,
2011) –
Crossroads
School Inc.
celebrated
students’
success and
34 years of
educating
exceptional
children at
its annual
gala, “If
You Believe
in Magic.”
The
record-breaking
event held
on Saturday,
March 5, at
The
Houstonian
Hotel and
Spa, raised
over
$55,000, and
helps to
further our
mission of
being able
to provide a
successful
school
experience
for more
children
with
learning
differences.
KPRC-2
anchor
Rachel
McNeill
served as
emcee.
Over 250
guests
enjoyed the
ambiance and
festivities.
Excitement
and
enchantment
filled the
air, opening
with a
cocktail
hour, and
then an
amazing
three course
dinner,
which
included
expertly
prepared
lamb chops
and a salmon
entrée.
Dinner was
followed by
the popular
dessert
auction.
This year,
guests were
entertained
by the jazzy
sounds of
the Kristine
Mills Band.
A fast-paced
live auction
was the
evening’s
finale,
featuring
the magic of
a 3D TV and
Blu Ray
Player, Napa
Valley Get
Away, and
the Capital
Grille’s
exclusive
Chef’s Table
with Seattle
Seahawks’
NFL Running
Back,
Javarris
Williams.
Proceeds
will enable
Crossroads
to educate
more
exceptional
students.
Crossroads
promotes an
“outside-the-box”
teaching
philosophy,
which
includes
multi-level
individualized
curriculum,
a nurturing
environment,
and classes
of eight or
fewer
students per
teacher. The
result,
K-10th
graders can
achieve
their full
academic
potential.
“I’m proud
of our
students,
and honored
to be a part
of their
lives,” says
Gila Arnoni,
Ph.D.,
director of
Crossroads
School.
“It’s so
rewarding to
know that
Crossroads
offers hope
and makes a
difference
in the lives
of our
children,
and their
families.”
Guests
received an
elegantly
wrapped
package of
blank note
cards. Each
card
featured a
