The two friends, Yue Sai Kan and Wang Chaobin,
hadn't seen each other in over 30 years .
They first met
35 years ago on TV when Yue Sai Kan ran her first TV show on
CCTV 世界各地。
The first CCTV
show Mr Wang saw was 世界各地。 缘份。
Mr Wang was
so impressed by the show that he made a promise to himself
that he must study English well and one day he would go to
America to see the world.
30 years went by.
Mr Wang has gone on to become a billionaire on
Forbes Global Tycoon list, 20 years in a row.
He does his business quietly and resolutely. He built the first Chinese
community of diversity with fellow countrymen from Taiwan,
Hong Kong and other parts of the world 侨胞社区 on a 2 square
kilometers
in Henan.
He built a strong logistics company and invested in several
other industry sectors. In 1991 when Mr Wang came to
America, he also bought a large piece of land in Florida.
Disney made its home there, Mr Wang wanted to be close to
Disney. What to do with the 10 Square kilometers? Mr Wang
has not thought through. He doesn’t think the Florida
government has thought through. Now he’s waiting.
While Yue Sai Kan proceeded with her fame and fortune ( sold
her famous brand 羽西口红to the world cosmetics giant L’Oréal ).
She has been blessed with love and friends all over the
world.
Forbes Business Forum brings them together five days ago and
they found themselves sharing the same vision and they gave
the same desire to help bridge US and China to cross the
turbulence, for they both are grateful to US and China and
the amazing opportunities these two countries brought them
when the two countries were not fighting .
They decided to meet up for dinner last night and catch up
on old times and fill in the blanks created by time.
They shared
with us their stories and plans to bring US and China
together through stories, humanitarian acts, trips to China,
and business and charities.
