LongHouse Reserve’s
annual gardening competition, PLANTERS: ON+OFF THE GROUND X,
will open on June 19, 2021. Artists, horticulturists,
designers, gardeners, and landscapers will let their
imaginations run wild and create their best garden
masterpieces that go far beyond a clay pot.
The only restriction; their creation must be contained to 25
square feet. From 4:30 pm guests will cast their ballots for
the People’s Choice Award and at 6 pm attend a celebratory
presentation for the winners, judged by interior designers
Tony Ingrao and Randy Kemper of Ingrao Inc.. Enjoy the
creative displays with cocktails, music, and friendly faces.
Planters will remain on view to the public through July 31st
.
The 10th edition is led by Garden Committee Chair Alex
Feleppa and LongHouse Reserve Horticulturist Holger Winenga.
Judges Tony and Randy are internationally known for their
unique approach to style; designing for the world’s most
influential people and spaces, including Jack Welch and
Donny Deutsch, as well as NYC’s Baccarat Residences,
Campbell Bar in Grand Central Station, and the interiors of
35 Hudson Yards. The design duo are locals.
Their East Hampton residence, known as Woodhouse Park,

author, and collector.
As many as 75 works of art may be viewed in the LongHouse

with exhibitions that change each year. The gardens serve as
a living case study of the interaction between nature and
people in the 21st century. LongHouse's goal is to expand
the imagination and appeal to visitors of all ages; with an
education program providing students with docent-led school
tours, online materials, internship activities,
family-activity guides, and the LongHouse Scholarship Award. |
