Celebrating
its 50th year,
The Boys and Girls Club of Bellport Area will host its
annual BEACH
BALL 2017 THE ART OF SUMMER 2017 on
Saturday, June 24th from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The
event will be held at the waterfront home of Honorary
Chairs, Pamela and Bob Rosenberg. The magical night on the
bay will include dinner, dancing, and a live auction. Sunny
Hostin, Co-Host, The View, will host the event. DJ Louis
XIV will provide the entertainment.
The event will mark 50 years of services that the club has
brought to thousands of children ages 5 to 18 in the
Bellport Area. The club's goal is to make sure that
children have a safe place to learn, grow and feel a sense
of belonging. "Our mission is to inspire young people to
realize their full potential as responsible productive
caring citizen," says Club Executive Director Sybil Johnson.
"For
50 years, the club has been providing services to those in
need. What makes the event so special is that it brings our
community together to support each other and the people who
need us most," says Johnson.
The Boys and Girls Clubs serves over 850 members from the
ages of 5-19, and has served thousands of at risk young
people over the last 50 years. The club offers programs in
five core areas; character and leadership, education and
career development, health and life skills, the arts and
sports and fitness and recreational.
Through past fundraising efforts, in 2012, the club was able
to complete a 28,000 square space that includes learning
centers, computer labs, a kitchen, library, recording studio
and theater. The state of the art facility will welcome
thousands of new members over the next 50 years, changing
lives one boy and girl at a time.
