Announcing Muse Awards 2010
Nominations are being accepted for the
Cultural Excellence Awards Program
The Palm Beach County Cultural Council
presents the Muse Awards 2010, celebrating
arts and
cultural excellence in Palm Beach County at
the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts,
Cohen Pavilion February 27, 2010.
Please join the Cultural Council in honoring
individuals and organizations that help make
Palm Beach County a better place to live and
visit because of their contributions to art
and culture.
The Muse Awards is the community's
opportunity to recognize outstanding board
members, staff, sponsors, volunteers,
advocates, donors, educators, unsung heroes
and others who help make Palm Beach County
Florida’s Cultural Capital. Nominations are
open in the following categories:

Cultural Leader
·
Arts Educator
·
Arts & Cultural Organization (Budget
Under $500,000)
·
Arts & Cultural Organization (Budget Over
$500,000
·
Art or Cultural Program of the Year
·
Hector Ubertalli Award for Visual Artists

Nomination applications can be submitted by
email, postal service, or hand delivered.
Nomination deadline is 5:00 p.m., Monday
November 16.
Muse Award finalists and recipients will be
chosen through a competitive nomination
process. Each nomination will be reviewed
and scored by judges who are artists,
community leaders, past recipients and
Cultural Council board members. The judges
will choose three finalists per category.
One award recipient will be selected from
the finalists and announced at the Muse
Awards show.
The Council’s Choice Award is the exception
to this process. This award of special merit
will honor an individual or institution the
Council deems worthy of recognition for a
special effort or accomplishment that was
not honored in another category. This
honoree will be chosen at the Council’s
discretion and may be drawn from the pool of
nomination forms submitted or selected by
other means.
The Muse Awards dinner/show is a
one-of-a-kind evening featuring exceptional
performances from across Palm Beach County.
The 2010 production will revolve around
outstanding student accomplishments, which
will be recognized through performances and
presentations. The evening is produced by
Andrew Kato, Maltz Jupiter Theatre Artistic
Director and Emmy-award winning Tony Awards
Producer.

The Palm Beach County Cultural Council was
founded in 1978 by Alexander W. Dreyfoos as
the Palm Beach County Council of the Arts to
develop, coordinate and promote the arts and
cultural activities throughout Palm Beach
County. It is officially recognized by the
Board of County Commissioners as the
County's advisory agency for cultural
development and administers a portion of
local tourist development funds under
contract with county government. It is an
independent nonprofit membership
organization with 501(c)(3) federal
tax-exempt status, Florida Registration
number SC01489. All contributions are
deductible to the full extent of the law.
