Announcing Muse Awards 2010

Nominations are being accepted for the Cultural Excellence Awards Program

The Palm Beach County Cultural Council presents the Muse Awards 2010, celebrating arts and
cultural excellence in Palm Beach County at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Cohen Pavilion February 27, 2010.

Please join the Cultural Council in honoring individuals and organizations that help make Palm Beach County a better place to live and visit because of their contributions to art and culture.

The Muse Awards is the community's opportunity to recognize outstanding board members, staff, sponsors, volunteers, advocates, donors, educators, unsung heroes and others who help make Palm Beach County Florida’s Cultural Capital. Nominations are open in the following categories:

·         Civic Leader

·         Cultural Leader

·         Arts Educator

·         Arts & Cultural Organization (Budget Under $500,000)

·         Arts & Cultural Organization (Budget Over $500,000

·         Art or Cultural Program of the Year

·         Hector Ubertalli Award for Visual Artists

Detailed information about award categories and eligibility are available on www.palmbeachculture.com/museawards or by calling 561-472-3330.

Nomination applications can be submitted by email, postal service, or hand delivered.

Nomination deadline is 5:00 p.m., Monday November 16.

Muse Award finalists and recipients will be chosen through a competitive nomination process. Each nomination will be reviewed and scored by judges who are artists, community leaders, past recipients and Cultural Council board members. The judges will choose three finalists per category. One award recipient will be selected from the finalists and announced at the Muse Awards show.

The Council’s Choice Award is the exception to this process. This award of special merit will honor an individual or institution the Council deems worthy of recognition for a special effort or accomplishment that was not honored in another category. This honoree will be chosen at the Council’s discretion and may be drawn from the pool of nomination forms submitted or selected by other means.

The Muse Awards dinner/show is a one-of-a-kind evening featuring exceptional performances from across Palm Beach County. The 2010 production will revolve around outstanding student accomplishments, which will be recognized through performances and presentations. The evening is produced by Andrew Kato, Maltz Jupiter Theatre Artistic Director and Emmy-award winning Tony Awards Producer.

Award and table sponsorships are currently available; for details please call Mary Dunning at
561-472-3330.

General tickets to the Muse Awards ceremony and show are $250.00 each.
For reservations, please call 561-472-3330.

All proceeds from the Muse Awards benefit Cultural Council art education programs.
