The TRU Foundation’s (www.thetrufoundation.org)
second annual TRU Gala will be taking place once
again to generate awareness and funding support to
develop
comprehensive, innovative research and
treatment programs to help those afflicted by
depression. A night of education and entertainment,
guests will enjoy performances by musical legends
such as the Grammy Award-winning group
Blood, Sweat &
Tears as well as renowned vocalist, Chuck
Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night. Guests will
also enjoy a gut-wrenching performance by one of
today’s most sought after comedic talents, Bobby
Collins.
The night’s special keynote speaker will be Emmy
Award-winning actor, and former Soprano’s star, Joe
Pantoliano. As part of the evening’s festivities,
The TRU Foundation will be presenting major
charitable donations to Mr. Pantoliano’s “No
Kidding-Me Too” Foundation (www.nkm2.org),
as well as the Weill Medical College of Cornell
University’s Department of Psychiatry. Both
organizations are TRU Foundation partners and
committed to the fight against brain disease.
Founded by Eric Claus, President & CEO, The Great
Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, The TRU Foundation
(Treatment, Recovery & You) was developed to provide
help and hope to those whose lives are impacted by
the debilitation of depression.
The role of
the Foundation is to seek out the best, new research
through some of the country’s brightest medical
minds and to generate funding support for
comprehensive, innovative research that is effective
and lasting for those afflicted.
